Reminder for Illinois Providers: Confidentiality Protocols for Domestic Violence Victims

HealthLink encourages all of its payors to put protocols in place to protect certain personal information of a victim of domestic violence.

At HealthLink, we value our providers and we know the difference you make in the lives of our members. As you may already know, 50 Illinois Administrative Code Section 2028 requires payors of health benefits to establish confidentiality protocols for domestic abuse to protect certain personal information of a victim of domestic violence. A victim of domestic violence, the legal representative of the victim or, if a child is the member, the child's parent or guardian, may request to receive policy information at an alternate address, telephone number, or other method of contact. We encourage each of our valued providers to post the following information where it will be easily accessible.
