MedCall® offers 24-hour access to nurse counselors and audio-taped messages via a health information phone line. A component of HealthLink’s Health Care Management program, MedCall® is available on a PEPM basis.

When patients are actively involved in managing their health, the benefits are significant and can include expedited access to appropriate care, reduction of inappropriate care, increased patient satisfaction and lower expenditures. MedCall® empowers participants to make better health care choices by providing access to self care, health promotion and consumer education resources.

Health Information Hotline
MedCall®’s toll-free 24-hour hotline accesses nurse counselors who provide confidential answers to health care questions. Participants talk one-on-one with registered nurses about specific ailments, diseases, treatment options, prescription drugs and nutrition.

Effective Engagement Strategies
Condition Management engagement specialists serve as first contact with members identified and stratified at high risk. The engagement specialists are dedicated exclusively to the task of explaining the Condition Management programs to members and encouraging them to voluntarily participate. They are supported by telephonic tools that maximize personal contact with the member. This approach has resulted in more than 85% voluntary participation in high risk management.

Callers also may choose to listen to a selection of audio-taped messages on a wide variety of health topics, available in English and Spanish.

MedCall® is part of the HealthLink Health Care Management Programs, an extensive suite of health promotion and wellness information, case management and care coordination services to help physicians help their patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
