Professional Health Coaches for Mothers-to-Be
Our obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN) nurse care managers have successfully supported participating mothers-to-be with prenatal health concerns since the program’s beginning in 1989. We can help expectant mothers throughout the term of their pregnancies – as well as women who need special assistance – by making available a primary nurse care manager, physicians, and a team of pharmacists, dietitians and health educators, for each member who enrolls.

Participants receive three levels of support during and after pregnancy:

  1. I. Early Risk Assessment - Helps determine risk factors such as potential for pre-term delivery.

  2. Obstetrical Nursing Support - Serves as a liaison with the participant’s obstetrician, when appropriate, and provides an additional support resource.

  3. Post-delivery Follow-up - Matches the participant with a nurse care manager after the baby is born, providing instruction on topics such as feeding choices, family dynamics and post-partum depression.

The MaterniCall™ program is informational only. It is not the provision of medical care and it does not replace the doctor’s care. Participants are encouraged to discuss questions and concerns about pregnancy or newborn care with their physicians.

MaterniCall™ is part of the HealthLink Health Care Management Programs, an extensive suite of health promotion and wellness information, case management and care coordination services to help physicians help their patients achieve optimal health outcomes.
