The
Administrative Simplification provisions were enacted by U.S.
Congress to regulate and standardize the exchange of information,
and establish standards for privacy and security of individually
identifiable health information. The scope of HIPAA-AS can
be categorized into three general areas:
- Electronic Transactions and
Code Sets
- Privacy
- Security
HealthLink is working collaboratively
with our business partners-physicians, hospitals, insurance
carriers, third party administrators and trust funds- to meet
the compliance requirements.
