HealthLink utilizes Bank of America services for health care payments. The Bank
of America Healthcare Payments application for claim payments was fully retired
in the third quarter of 2007. The processing of health care payments migrated
to the Bank of America Paymode® platform.
HealthLink’s cooperative business effort with Bank of America Paymode® changes
the way participating physicians, hospitals and other health care professionals
receive HMO payments and Remittance Advices for most HMO claims. The arrangement
provides the choice of receiving paper remits and checks, or on-line remits
and/or Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) for payment.
Beginning September 4, 2007, Paymode® Customer Support (877-443-6944) will handle
inquiries regarding all payments made through the Bank of America Healthcare
Payments platform and electronic payments made through the Paymode® platform.
Inquiries regarding paper check payments made after August 31, 2007 will be
handled by HealthLink Customer Support (800-624-2356).
For Electronic Payments
The Paymode® service provides many benefits to HealthLink's valued providers:
- Saves time and money—Paymode® provides on-line reports and claim download options eliminating the need for paper claim data sent from HealthLink. Your EOB statement will be delivered through the Paymode website. No more waiting for USPS delivery. There is no charge to receive an electronic payment from HealthLink via Paymode. Each time you receive a payment through Paymode®, you will be sent an electronic notification reminding you to access the website for payment details.
- Fits with existing systems and banking practices—Paymode® requires no purchase of software, no modifications to your existing patient accounting systems, and no changes to your bank or bank accounts.
- History of payments—A detailed history of all Paymode® payments from HealthLink will be at your fingertips on the Paymode website.
